The first half of my life was spent mainly in the military-security world.

I was the person who got the call when a famous football player’s children were threatened with being kidnapped.

I’d get the call when an airline company was being fined $millions because too many drugs were being smuggled out of Jamaica on their flights.

Eventually, I got bored of looking after UHNW clients and organisations whose only goal was to make more money, often at the expense of the planet and people. Fast forward to today, we see this has become a major problem.

In response I changed direction and got a BSc in Environmental Science.

But I wasn’t early in spotting the path we were on, Rachel Carson wrote a book: ‘The Silent Spring’ explaining the ecological damage done by corporates before I was born.

I think the term Ecological Disconnect Disorder (EDD) describes the situation well.

It feels like we’re living in a Matrix, or Plato’s cave because the world’s run by people with a systemic pathology in which decision-makers become psychologically, culturally, or institutionally disconnected from the ecological and social consequences of their actions.

The disorder manifests through the prioritisation of financial or political gain over the health of living systems, communities, and future generations.

Well I am feeling like I did in the past, like the calls being put out and those who can, do something about this ‘clear and present danger’, should make the jump.

The Military Industrial Complex (MIC) will demand more and more money to fight forever wars ($1.5 trillion next year, promised by Trumpet to keep them sweet); media will be used to brainwash us into thinking we’re being attacked by the bogey ‘men’ (and they’re out there), but that money will be siphoned off before it ever gets to any front lines.

The MIC, Financial Industrial Complex (FIC) &Techno-Industrial Complex (TIC), are ALL vying for control of the future Global Empire…. Sounds like Star Wars! 🧐

But when Empires collapse it’s because hubris infects those at the top.

Are we nearly there yet?

What we’ll get from academics and governments and organisations, is how can we control this and make a buck whilst we’re at it.

Special Forces and communities don’t wait to be told what to do OR be rescued after the collapse.

Authority goes to where the information is, community response will be more effective with the support of Govts, than a centralised ‘command and control’ response, because that’s what got us into this mess in the first place.
