I had the privilege of being one of the judges for this year’s prestigious North West Leadership Awards.
The judging session, expertly hosted by Will Stone FRSA MCIPR at Alliance Manchester Business School and skillfully facilitated by Business Desk’s Michael Taylor, was an inspiring experience.
Choosing from an impressive array of nominees was no easy feat—each candidate demonstrated commendable leadership qualities.
In these transformative times filled with wicked challenges, I believe leadership is an emergent process.
It requires intention backed by action, and I was on the lookout for individuals who are not just leaders but creative and collaborative problem solvers, environmental stewards, and champions for others.
The nominees showcased a remarkable commitment to making a positive impact on our world.🌍
From tackling complex issues to safeguarding our planet’s biosphere and supporting communities, these leaders embody the change we need.
In my assessment, true leadership calls for a humble blend of courage and compassion.
As we navigate these dynamic times, it’s crucial to move away from the ethos of competition and self-centered businesses. Instead, let’s champion ‘whole-centered’ community-serving businesses that prioritise planetary and collective well-being.
I’m excited to see who emerges as the ultimate winners, and I’m confident that each nominee has the potential to inspire and lead their teams towards a brighter future.
Congratulations to all the shortlisted candidates—you are true beacons of leadership excellence!
The shortlist can be found on TheBusinessDesk.com website and the ‘Leader of the Year’ will be announced on March 27, 2024, in front of the North West business community at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.
