Are we making ourselves too dependent on systems we don’t control?
The story of an 89-year-old being fined because he couldn’t use a parking app is a good reminder.
Technology is brilliant — until it becomes the only option.
The bigger issue for me is resilience.
The more we centralise money, commerce and services, the more power sits with fewer organisations.
And capitalism, left unchecked, has a habit of creating monopolies — where people can be squeezed simply because they have nowhere else to go.
So perhaps we need to buck the trend:
-Keep using cash.
-Support local businesses.
-Build community networks.
-Preserve the alternatives.
Not anti #TechCapitalism
Just pro-choice and, pro- #communityresilience.
Because having alternatives is a form of freedom.
