A decade-old memory popped up today on Mark Zuckerberg’s platform Facebook and he’s just written a big thesis – https://about.fb.com/news/2026/08/the-future-is-for-everyone/
It took me back to an idea I’ve been developing for years.
I later wrote a book arguing that small, dynamic teams equipped with technology can produce more than large, rigid organisations.
So I don’t quite buy Zuckerberg’s latest thesis.
His vision is essentially: AI → personal agents → superintelligence → abundance.
I’m not convinced that generative AI is even a stepping stone towards AGI.
It may be an ‘evolutionary dead end’.
Generative AI is extraordinarily good at predicting, synthesising and recombining the products of human intelligence.
But intelligence evolved through something rather different:
Sense → Explore → Act → Experience → Learn → Adapt.
That’s why I’m more interested in Dynamic Teaming.
The future I see isn’t necessarily humans being replaced by increasingly autonomous AI.
It’s small groups of humans, AI, tools and environments forming complex adaptive systems that can sense, decide, act and learn faster than any individual or conventional hierarchy.
