🌍 From Mercenaries to Missionaries: Embracing Business as a Force for Good 🌍

I wrote ‘From Mercenaries to Missionaries’ with two aims in mind.

1️⃣ To highlight that, like all things in the natural world, businesses move through lifecycles. Every decision we make has impacts—some unintended—that ripple through the complex ecosystems we operate in.

2️⃣ To challenge the prevalent mechanistic mindset dominating the business world, which is too often driven by technology and engineering principles.

In reality, our world is shaped by complex, evolving systems. Yet, many leaders, from politicians to managers, haven’t adapted. They still view the business landscape as linear and engineering-driven.

But here’s the catch: applying “engineering thinking” to evolving systems frequently fails. Unexamined assumptions lead to unintended consequences and unpredictable effects—sometimes culminating in black swans. 🌌

In a world of evolving systems, everything is in a state of constant and dynamic change.

My book guides leaders to sense and feel their way forward, always ready to adapt. It advocates evolving from mercenary entrepreneurs to becoming inspirational leaders on a mission to make the world a better place.

‘From Mercenaries to Missionaries’ serves as an aide-memoire of tools and philosophies for making business a force for good, benefiting not just the entrepreneur, but the community as a whole.

It offers an integral view of business that harmonises personal success with the greater good. This transformation is not just for our sake but for the sake of our children and future generations. 🌱👶

We must adapt and lead with purpose to ensure a sustainable and thriving world for them.

If you’re inspired to transform business from a mere profit-driven endeavor to a mission-driven force that uplifts and inspires the 🌍 give it a read. ✨
