I’ve heard some very smart business people talk about the fact that the game is up. But they’re still selling their wares as if the game will go on forever.
For the paradigm winners, a lot of them are doubling down on their efforts to gain as much wealth as possible, whilst they build their bunkers before, WHAT THEY HAVE ALREADY DECIDED IS A FORGONE CONCLUSION, society collapses.
So, as a leader, when do you act?
Do you wait and hope for the best?
There are four levels of resilience:
Regression: remain a victim and hope that somebody comes to the rescue
Resistance: ignore it and hope the threat goes away
Resilience: Carry on bravely and rather effectively, in less than ideal conditions…But secretly hoping it will return to the status-quo.
Robust: Acknowledge the present, Accept this is the new reality, Adapt and thrive in the emerging new paradigm.
This is a time when humanity could be thriving and evolving, maybe not into a utopia, but a lot better than it is at present.
As a leader, it’s crucial to discern when action is necessary. Waiting and hoping for the best might not suffice in these times of uncertainty.
What is wrong with capitalism?
We collaborated our way to the top of the evolutionary tree, but reverted to dominance hierarchy in our social and economic systems around 12k years ago.
Capitalism is focussed on compete and control, whereas we should be creatively collaborating our way out of inequality, ecological and societal collapse.
Will the paradigm winners allow that to happen?
Or will they press on until the collapse?
