Men Allowed – Walk. Talk. Belong.

Men Allowed Mondays – Walk. Talk. Belong.

Stoic Pilgrim Adventures C.I.C. invites men to step outside, walk side by side, and reconnect — with themselves, with others, and with the natural world.

Starting Monday 30th March at 6pm from The Black Lion, Cheddleton, Murph and Ryan Shotton (former professional footballer and co-owner of the pub) will lead a simple but powerful monthly ritual: a 2-hour walk, open to any man who wants to join.

This is part of a wider journey leading up to a 6-day, 150km challenge in September across the Lake District, including Scafell Pike — raising awareness for men’s mental health and supporting CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).

But this isn’t a one-off event.

Men Allowed is about consistency. The last Monday of every month, we walk.

No pressure. No fixing. No expectations.

Just walking, talking, and being outdoors.

There’s something profound about walking side by side. Conversations flow more naturally. There’s less intensity than sitting face-to-face, and more honesty.

Movement helps process thoughts — similar to the bilateral stimulation used in EMDR therapy — while nature itself reduces stress and restores clarity.

At a time when isolation and loneliness are at an all-time high, we believe:

– The digital world can’t replace the natural world

– Resilience is built outdoors, not on screens

– Brotherhood grows through shared experience

Philosophers like Socrates and Aristotle walked to think, to teach, and to connect. That wisdom still holds.

This is about community. Camaraderie. And creating space for men to simply be.

If you can, send a small donation for CALM. If not, just bring yourself.

You’re welcome here.
