It was an incredible experience, and I couldn’t have asked for a better team, fielded by Bruntwood SciTech and the Grand Union .
Together, they tackled 24 miles of stunning landscapes, all in support of the hashtagGrowingProject, a transformative community programme using art, gardening, cooking and simply being together as a way of offering support and friendship to people passing through difficult times.
As an ambassador for Adventure Mind, I’m passionate about the positive impact that adventure can have on mental health and resilience.
Leading this challenge was a powerful reminder of how teamwork and nature can uplift our spirits and strengthen our connections. They have raised nearly £10k at the last report, so please donate if you can here: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eTPbhn5A
The benefit of adventure and taking on challenges like this is that you become acquainted with a more resilient and courageous version of yourself, and the mind can’t shrink back.
Who knows where this version of oneself, will take you in life?
I’m also looking forward to sharing insights from this experience and the use of adventure based learning experiences, at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) in November, where I’ll explore how outdoor adventures can benefit our mental wellbeing, with Belinda Kirk
Let’s continue to champion mental health and the importance of getting outside! 🌍💚
